Orthodontics

Children’s Dentistry - Orthodontics Azusa Straightening and realigning your smile is a great way to improve its overall appearance. Children, teenagers, and adults are all candidates for orthodontic treatments at Gentle Care Dentistry of San Gabriel Valley. Patients can have either traditional metal braces or clear braces, whichever is preferred. Both are viable and effective ways of straightening teeth into their proper positions and improving the overall look of a patient’s smile.

Children who may need orthodontia are often caught early at Dr. Luu’s practice . She monitors the development of the jaw and the palate in accordance with their growth to determine if they may need early treatment, or Phase I orthodontia. Phase I is the use of an appliance for the expansion of jaw or palate to help decrease teeth crowding or eliminate habits such as thumb sucking. Adults can also enjoy orthodontic treatment when needed, and Dr. Luu can recommend orthodontia that will fit their needs, lifestyle, and budget. Together with the patient, Dr. Luu will decide which treatment is best for everyone involved.

Whether you have severely misaligned teeth or need a few minor adjustments, Dr. Luu of Gentle Care Dentistry of San Gabriel Valley has the treatment for you. One of our many orthodontic treatments may help you improve your smile. Improving your smile can benefit you in many areas of both your personal and professional lives. What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics or braces are recommended to straighten and align teeth for a more beautiful smile.

What are the benefits of having straight teeth?

Straight teeth help prevent cavity. It is easy to brush and floss compared to crooked teeth. Another benefit of straight teeth is that it prevents gum disease. Straight teeth help prevent the trauma crooked teeth would cause around the gum and bone.

Straight teeth also help with food digestion by assisting to chew food properly. Straight teeth also help with better pronunciation and speech. Finally, straight teeth with a beautiful smile improve self-esteem.

What are the different types of braces?

Gentle Care Dentistry in Azusa has different types of braces. We do traditional braces, which are the metal bracket.

We also place crew brackets that function the same as metal brackets, except they are clear in color. The third type of braces is the aligners, which are transparent and very aesthetic.
