Glendora CA patients can benefit from Invisible Braces

If you are like many people when you hear the word “braces,” you envision an awkward teenager with a mouth full of metal braces. Today it is possible to treat many orthodontic issues without metal braces; one of the most popular options is invisible braces that use of a series of clear aligner trays to straighten your teeth.

The clear aligner procedure

Not every patient is a candidate for invisible braces, so Dr. Luu will begin by giving you a thorough examination to make sure clear aligners are a good option for your needs. Providing this is an appropriate treatment option for you, the next step would be to take x-rays, photos, and impressions of your teeth. These will be used to determine how your teeth need to move in order to bring them in to proper alignment. This information is also used to create your aligner trays.

Typically, it takes the dental lab about two weeks to create the trays. Once they are ready, you will need to return to the office; you will receive your first batch of aligner trays and instructions on how to care for them. You will return to our office every four to six weeks for a checkup to ensure your teeth are progress according to your treatment plan and to receive your next batch of trays.

Actual Patient Reviews

You will have to wear the trays for 20 to 22 hours a day. They should only be removed when you are eating, drinking (anything other than water), and when caring for your teeth. The simplicity of oral hygiene is one of the benefits to invisible braces. There are no wires or brackets to trap food or plaque, you brush and floss your teeth the same way you always have, the only difference being you need to brush after every meal before replacing the aligner trays.

Dr. Brianne Luu from Gentle Care Dentistry talks about the process of getting Invisalign® clear braces and the steps to reaching final results. Watch the video to know more.

What is the procedure of getting Invisalign® at Gentle Care Dentistry?

Once a patient has been identified as an ideal candidate for Invisalign®, we use the iTero 3D Scanner to scan the teeth.

We are the only dental office in Azusa with this state-of-the-art technology.

Capturing through the scanner is more comfortable, less distorted, and accurate. The patient will end up with a better and more accurate fit of the aligners on their teeth.

What is the duration of getting the first set of aligners and seeing results?

After the teeth are scanned, it goes straight to Invisalign®. It takes about a month for the fabrication, and the patient returns to our office to receive their first set of aligners.

After that, we will go over the aftercare instructions of placing and removing the aligners to take care of them.

The aligners need to be worn 22 hours a day and are usually changed out every ten days.

At Gentle Care Dentistry in Azusa, we have great success with this treatment. Many patients are happy with the final results and wish they had started sooner.
